Safety Center
Your safety comes first. Here's how to protect yourself online, spot red flags, and meet new people with confidence.
🚨 In an emergency
If you ever feel you're in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services right away. Your safety matters more than any conversation or match.
💬 Staying safe while chatting
- Keep it on the app. Get to know someone through Soulmates chat before moving to other platforms or sharing your phone number.
- Protect your personal info. Don't share your home or work address, financial details, or passwords — no matter how genuine someone seems.
- Be wary of anyone who rushes you into deep emotional intimacy, or who quickly asks to move off the app.
- Never send money or share banking/gift-card details. Requests for money are the number-one sign of a romance scam, even after weeks of talking.
🚩 Red flags to watch for
- They refuse to video chat or keep making excuses to avoid meeting.
- Their story doesn't add up, or their photos look too polished or won't verify.
- They quickly profess strong feelings, then ask for money, gift cards, or crypto.
- They try to isolate you or pressure you into anything you're not comfortable with.
🤝 Meeting in person
- Meet in public the first few times — a café, restaurant, or busy area.
- Tell a friend where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be back. Share your live location if you can.
- Arrange your own transport so you can leave whenever you want.
- Stay sober and aware. Watch your drink, and trust your instincts — if something feels off, it's okay to leave.
🛡️ Report & block
If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can remove them instantly. Open their profile or your chat with them and tap the ⋯ menu to Block (which unmatches you and hides the chat) or Report. Reports are reviewed by our team and are confidential.
Getting verified (Settings → Verification) also helps everyone trust that you're a real person — and lets you spot verified matches with the ✓ badge.
