Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CELEBRIFFY TECHNOLOGIES INC. ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use Soulmates Club (the "Service"). We are the data controller. Contact: privacy@soulmatesclub.com.

1. Data we collect

• Account: email and/or phone number, password (stored hashed by our auth provider).
• Profile: name, birthdate, gender, height, bio, interests/tags, languages you speak, what matters most to you (values), city, and photos you upload.
• Lifestyle (optional): drinking, smoking, whether you have kids, and family plans, if you choose to provide them.
• Sensitive data (optional): ethnicity, religion, and political views, if you choose to provide them. These are “special category” personal data. We collect them only with your consent, use them solely to help you and others connect over shared identity and values, and show them on your profile only if you choose to. You can change or remove them at any time.
• Marketing preference: whether you opted in to receive news and offers by email (off by default).
• Location: approximate location, collected only if you choose "Use my location" (or, as a fallback, estimated from your IP address). It is coarsened to an approximate area — we never store your precise coordinates — and is used to show distance and, if you turn on “Show me on the Map” in Settings, to display you to nearby users as an approximate area. You can turn "Show me on the Map" off at any time in Settings.
• Activity & content: likes, passes, matches, and the messages you send — including text, emoji reactions, GIFs, and voice notes.
• Notifications: if you enable push notifications, we store a device subscription token so we can send you alerts.
• Verification (optional): a selfie you submit for photo verification.
• Technical: device/browser info and log data needed to run and secure the Service.

2. How we use your data

• To create your profile and show you to (and show you) potential matches.
• To calculate distance and shared-interest compatibility.
• To enable matching, messaging, and notifications.
• To provide optional features you choose to use, such as the Map, GIFs, voice notes, and on-demand message translation.
• To keep the Service safe: prevent fraud, enforce our rules, review reports, and verify photos.
• To provide support and to comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (where GDPR applies): performance of our contract with you, your consent (e.g., location, verification), our legitimate interests (safety, improving the Service), and legal obligations.

3. Sharing

• Other users see your profile (photos, name, age, city/distance, tags, bio, languages, and values). If you enable the Map, nearby users see you as an approximate area (never your exact location). People you match with can see the text, GIFs, and voice notes you send them.
• Service providers (subprocessors) that help run the Service under contract and only as instructed, including: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Resend (transactional email), Giphy (GIF search — your search terms are sent to Giphy), Google Translate (only the specific message you choose to translate is sent, at your request), and location-lookup providers BigDataCloud and ipwho.is (to estimate your city). Map tiles are served by CARTO / OpenStreetMap.
• Legal/safety: we may disclose data to comply with law or to protect users.
• We do not sell your personal data.

4. Retention

• We keep your account data while your account is active.
• Verification selfies are deleted promptly after review (kept only long enough to make the verification decision).
• When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:

• Delete your account and data yourself in Settings → Delete account.
• Request a copy of your data or exercise other rights by emailing privacy@soulmatesclub.com.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.

7. Children

The Service is strictly for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it and remove the account.

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies/local storage needed to keep you signed in and run the Service. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If we add them in the future, we will update this policy and provide a consent mechanism.

9. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than yours (including where our providers operate). We rely on appropriate safeguards where required.
